Next an overview was presented of the Exploring Health Care Program:

• Structure
• Types of activities
• Goals
• Influence on participants and hosts
• How it addresses issues of cultural competency

The remainder of the presentation focused on one of the visits during the program to Stanford University's Pacific Free Clinic:

• Why the clinic is visited
• History of the clinic
• Patient population served
• Cultural issues related to running the clinic and providing care
• Interpreter training and services provided
